October 27th NHL Slate

Weekend Takeaways:

The Red Wings went down 0-4 and somehow won 6-4. Lon was there with boots on the ground, so that was awesome. Electric atmosphere, great Labatt Blue’s on tap, and the most secretive good parking lot that I am a frequent parker at downtown. Its the little things.

The Lightning are back and Vasi is playing better. We need to remember this as we go forward with our picks.

The Devils are Cup Contenders. Its all about health with them. Last year they didn’t have a team in playoffs so we will see.

Are the Oilers even good? They stand currently at 4-4 with a -3 Goal Differential. You get McDavid back on a mid-term deal that basically says “I don’t think we are built to win a Stanley Cup, so I am going to give you a couple years to figure it out then leave” and your team goes 4-4. There is trouble in Oiler Land. McDavid, back your bags to Detroit and ask for the trade.

Lets get to tonight’s Lines:

Two games tonight.

St. Louis at Pittsburgh:

The Penguins are 6-2. I think its an incredibly flawed 6-2, and I am kind of shook by this, but they actually don’t look bad. However….. they are a bad hockey team, and we bet against bad teams. I think this one is a mega slam dunk. Blues coming off a horrid loss away to Detroit and heading to the blues means 1 of 2 things.

  1. The Blues are going to slide.
  2. They are going to destroy the Pens.

The Pick: Blues -120

Boston @ Ottawa:

This game, I think you’d have to threaten me to watch. Just hammer the Blues and skip this one.

The Pick: Ottawa -170

Hopefully you enjoy the slate today.
